Material
This bag is made from a high GSM polyester knit fabric with jacquard woven patterns. Let us break down what that means. Polyester knit is a fabric made by interlocking polyester yarns on a knitting machine — it has a soft, stretchy, plush hand feel that is different from woven fabrics like canvas or cotton. The high GSM (grams per square meter) means the fabric is thick and substantial — it does not feel thin or cheap the way low-GSM polyester can. The jacquard part is the key differentiator. Instead of printing a pattern onto the fabric surface, jacquard weaving uses different colored yarns that are woven together to create the design. The pattern is literally built into the fabric structure — it is visible on both sides, has a textured, raised feel, and will never fade, crack, or peel. The handles are integrated — they are knit as part of the bag body from the same fabric, so there are no separate handle attachments that can break or fray. The medium-firm structure means the bag holds its shape when set down, rather than collapsing into a soft pile like a thin knit bag would.

Description
There is a reason knit gift bags have become popular in boutique retail and premium gifting — they feel like something you would keep, not throw away. The soft, plush texture, the raised jacquard pattern, the integrated handles that feel substantial in your hand — every detail says this is not a disposable paper gift bag. This is a reusable accessory that the recipient will use long after the original gift is gone. The 4 stock patterns cover the most popular gifting occasions: pink heart for Valentine's Day and romantic gifts, clover blue for St. Patrick's Day and spring promotions, pink for baby showers and breast cancer awareness, and custom green for holiday and eco-themed gifting. At 20x36cm, it is the perfect size for a jewelry box, a skincare set, a candle, a book, or a curated collection of small gifts. The medium-firm structure means it stands up on its own when you are filling it, and it does not sag or lose its shape when carried. The open top design makes it easy to see and access the contents, which is important for retail display. If you have ever received a gift in a beautiful bag that you could not bear to throw away, you understand the value of this product.

What is the difference between jacquard knit and printed fabric?
This is the most important thing to understand about this bag. Jacquard weaving is a completely different process from printing. With printed fabric, the pattern is applied to the surface of the fabric using ink — screen print, heat transfer, digital print, whatever method. The ink sits on top of the fibers and can fade, crack, or peel over time, especially with washing and abrasion. With jacquard weaving, the pattern is built into the fabric itself during the weaving process. Different colored yarns are woven together to create the design — the pattern is literally part of the fabric structure, not on top of it. This means the pattern will never fade, crack, or peel, no matter how many times you wash it or how much you use it. The pattern is visible on both sides of the fabric (though it may be reversed on the back), and it has a textured, raised feel that printed fabric cannot replicate. The tradeoff is that jacquard weaving is more expensive than printing, and the design is limited to what can be achieved with colored yarns — photographic gradients and fine detail are not possible, but bold geometric patterns, logos, and repeating motifs work beautifully. For a gift bag that needs to look premium and last a long time, jacquard is worth the extra cost. For a disposable promotional bag, printed fabric is more economical.
Can I create a custom jacquard pattern for my brand?
Yes, but there are some important limitations to understand. Custom jacquard patterns require a minimum order of 1000 pieces and a one-time design/setup fee of $300-500, depending on pattern complexity. The process works like this: you provide your artwork (we recommend vector format — AI, EPS, or SVG), our weaving technician converts it into a jacquard pattern file (this involves simplifying the design to a limited color palette — typically 2-4 colors — and adjusting the pattern to work with the loom's capabilities), we send you a digital simulation of how the pattern will look woven, you approve or request revisions, then we produce a physical woven sample (a small swatch, not a full bag) in 7-10 days. Once you approve the swatch, we weave the full fabric run and produce the bags. Important limitations: jacquard patterns work best with bold, simple designs — logos, geometric shapes, repeating patterns, text in block fonts. Photographic images, fine gradients, and tiny details do not translate well to jacquard weaving. The color palette is limited to 2-4 colors per pattern (more colors = more expensive setup and higher per-unit cost). If your design is too complex for jacquard, we may recommend a printed alternative instead. For orders below 1000 pieces, we recommend choosing from our 4+ stock jacquard patterns — they are proven sellers and require no setup fee.
How durable is polyester knit compared to cotton or canvas?
Polyester knit is actually more durable than cotton or canvas in several ways, though it has different strengths. In terms of abrasion resistance, polyester is significantly tougher than cotton — it resists pilling, fraying, and wear at stress points much better. A polyester knit bag will not develop holes at the corners or handles the way a cotton bag can after months of use. In terms of color fastness, polyester holds dye extremely well — the colors will not fade from sunlight or washing, which is why outdoor gear and athletic wear use polyester. In terms of water resistance, polyester is naturally hydrophobic — it repels water and dries quickly, whereas cotton absorbs water and takes a long time to dry. The areas where cotton outperforms polyester are breathability and natural feel — cotton is more comfortable against skin and has a more premium, natural texture. But for a gift bag that is used occasionally and needs to maintain its appearance, polyester knit is actually the better choice. It will look new for longer, resist stains better, and hold its shape without sagging. The high GSM (grams per square meter) knit we use for this bag is thick and structured — it does not feel cheap or flimsy the way thin polyester can. It has a soft, plush hand feel that customers associate with quality.
What are the best occasions to use knit gift totes?
Knit gift totes work best for occasions where the packaging is part of the gift experience — where you want the recipient to feel that thought and care went into the presentation. The most popular uses we see are: holiday gift packaging (Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day) — the soft knit texture and festive patterns make gifts feel more personal and luxurious than a paper gift bag; wedding favors and bridal party gifts — the elegant, textured appearance elevates simple favors and the bags become keepsakes that guests reuse; boutique retail packaging for jewelry, cosmetics, skincare, and small luxury goods — the premium feel justifies higher price points and creates an unboxing experience that customers share on social media; corporate gifting and client appreciation — a well-chosen knit tote with your brand's jacquard logo feels more thoughtful than a branded pen or notebook; seasonal promotions and limited-edition product launches — the unique texture and pattern make the packaging itself a collectible item. The key insight is that knit gift totes are not just packaging — they are a reusable accessory that the recipient will keep and use, which means your brand stays visible long after the original gift is gone. A paper gift bag gets thrown away within days. A knit gift tote gets used for years, carrying your brand's pattern and logo everywhere it goes.
