The exterior uses a 300D Oxford polyester with a PU coating on the back side for water resistance — water beads on the surface and wipes off without soaking through. The Oxford weave has a subtle texture that hides minor scuffs and gives the pouch a structured feel without being stiff. The interior lining is a 190T polyester taffeta in a matching or contrasting color — smooth, lightweight, and durable. The zipper is YKK #3 nylon coil, which is the standard for small pouches and wallets — it opens and closes smoothly over 10000 cycles without jamming. How many cards and coins can this mini pouch actually hold?
The pouch is designed to hold 4-6 cards comfortably, plus 5-10 coins (depending on coin size — USD quarters are larger than EUR 1 coins, for example), plus 2-3 folded bills. If you force 8+ cards, the zipper will be difficult to close and the Oxford material will stretch over time. We recommend positioning this as a 'mini essentials' pouch rather than a full wallet replacement. The interior has 4 dedicated card slots on one side and a slip pocket on the other that can hold 2 additional cards or a folded bill. The coin pocket is a separate compartment in the center, so coins do not scratch the cards. For customers who need more card capacity, we recommend the women's chain wallet (10+ slots) or the men's RFID bifold (8-12 slots).
Is the Oxford material really waterproof or just water-resistant?
Yes. We stock 22 colors covering the basics — black, white, navy, grey, beige, plus seasonal tones like sage green, dusty rose, mustard yellow and terracotta. If you need a specific brand color, send us the Pantone code or a fabric swatch. We dye the acrylic yarn to match within a Delta E of 2.0 (industry standard for visual acceptability). Custom dyeing adds 3-5 days to sample development and requires a minimum of 500 pieces per color. There is no extra dyeing fee — the cost is built into the per-unit price. We recommend ordering a color sample card before committing to a full production run.
Can I get a custom woven label or printed logo on this pouch?
Acrylic yarn is surprisingly tough. It is mold-resistant, colorfast (will not fade in sunlight), and can be hand-washed in cold water. The mesh construction means the bag stretches to accommodate contents but springs back to shape when emptied. In real-world testing, our crocheted totes hold up to 5kg of load without strap deformation — enough for a day at the beach or a trip to the farmers market. The wooden bead handles are sanded smooth and sealed with a natural finish, so they will not splinter or snag clothing. The main wear point is the strap-to-body connection, which we reinforce with a double-knot stitch. With normal use, these bags last 2-3 years — and they look better as the yarn softens with age.
What is the difference between this mini pouch and a standard coin purse?
Crocheted bags are naturally foldable, which is a huge advantage for shipping. We fold each bag flat (the mesh compresses to about 2cm thickness), place it in a custom polybag to prevent dust and moisture, then pack 50-80 pieces per corrugated carton. A 500-piece order fits in roughly 7-8 cartons with a total volume of about 0.15 CBM — significantly less than structured canvas or nylon bags.
